If you want to be sure all areas of the building will be inspected, inform your agent or the seller that access to the following areas must be cleared so I can perform a safe, efficient and complete inspection.

  • Attic openings (empty the closet if the opening is there)
  • Crawlspace openings
  • Three foot clearance in front of electrical panels, water heaters, heat/cooling systems
  • Make sure all utilities are on and any pilot lights are lit.

Home inspectors are not required by VA certification standards or any professional organization's standards of practice to move objects to gain access to areas or system components. If access is blocked to an area or component and you wish for me to revisit the site at a later date, an added fee will apply.
